On 24 July 40 of CCSM’s primary teachers were joined by 10 visitors from other areas, to learn new ways of Catering for Individual Students’ Differences and catch up on Duty of Care training.
To gain authorisation, teachers complete seven modules of training (https://www.iccoreis.asn.au/teaching-sre/training).
SRE training for our volunteers occurs twice a year. As a retired deputy principal and education consultant, our SRE trainer teaches multiple combined scripture classes each week. Anonymous real-life illustrations enlivened lectures on Teaching in Government Schools, Classroom Management and our Duty of Care. How to teach today’s children sensitively, respectfully and age-appropriately was emphasised with down-to-earth teaching tips.
